History:
Said to have been born somewhere in the Outer Rim, his true name, his homeworld, his age and his family remain a mystery - but Revan is one of the most important figures of ancient history.
Trained in the ways of the Force on Dantooine, apparently by Kreia, he was eager to learn everything there was to know about the Force, and was said to have tutelage from many different Masters, including Zhar Lestin, Master Dorak and Arren Kae.
During the dawn of the Mandalorian Wars, he was a prominent figure in the disagreement with the Jedi's choice to avoid the skirmishes occuring on the Outer Rim. He became somewhat of a voice through the Republic media, and soon gathered a following for his cause.
Eventually, he set out with his following under the media identity of The Revanchist and travelled to the Mandalorian front, spreading word of his movement on his path through the galaxy. The Republic continued to petition the Jedi for help, but the Council continued to refuse. Revan and his followers did not.
Alongside the hundreds of Jedi that supported his cause, Revan's entrance into the war became its turning point. He excelled through the Republic ranks, soon becoming a General, and was given command of a third of the Republic fleet. However, the more he fought the Mandalorian's, the more he became to revel in their views on weakness.
Through knowledge of the Mandalorian's fears of the planet Korriban, he began to investigate the ways of the Sith and visited several landmarks of the True Sith, even travelling to the Sith homeworld itself and, in some unknown confrontation, he was said to have taken on Sith teachings at this point.
He returned to the war, forcing the Mandalorian's into a final battle over Malachor V. After a devastatingly brutal battle, Mandalore the Ultimate was slain by Revan himself, and the crippled clans were stripped of their armor and weapons, sent into exile and shame.
Revan did not return to the republic. Instead, he took his friend Alek (who would later became Darth Malak) and those followers who had succumbed to the dark side during the war, and they set out for unknown space. They said to be searching for the Mandalorian remains, but where in fact on the quest to find the Star Forge.
During the wars, Revan and his friend had visited several planets and discovered the remains of five star maps. Using the knowledge they had gained from these maps, they travelled to the Lehon system, battled with the ancient Rakata tribes and gain access to the Star Forge.
He used the ancient space station to construct a Sith armada, returned to the galaxy and declared war on the Jedi Order and the Republic. He quickly and surely began to conquer the galaxy planet by planet, leaving behind him a trail of academies to teach those few worthy the ways of the True Sith.
In an attempt to end the war, the Republic and the Jedi set a trap for the armada and, managing to board the Dark Lord's ship, they confronted him on the bridge. Darth Malak, hoping to destroy all in his path, ordered his fleet to fire on Revan's flagship. He believed his old Master to be dead, but something kept him alive.
Bastila Shan returned the Dark Lord to the Counil and, in a decision to discover how such a Sith armada had been built, they reprogrammed his mind to be loyal to the Republic and put him under Shan's supervision aboard the Endar Spire.
Revan, however, began to regain his memories - but despite them he stayed loyal to the Jedi. He set out to find the star maps he was having visions of and, with the help of a few companions, he once again discovered the Star Forge.
Darth Malak, however, had also travelled back to the Lehon system to stop his former Master ruining his plans. The two fought aboard the Forge and Malak was defeated, whilst the Republic fleet managed to overcome the Sith armada and destroy the Forge once Revan had escaped it.
After hearing that the True Sith were building an empire outside of known space, Revan left his companions and titles behind to find them and destroy them. In over 3000 years, he has not been heard of - until now. There is no possibility that the appearance of this man means the return of Revan, though some argue he has discovered some way to eternal life.
The truth is that no one has any way of discovering whether or not this man is the true Revan, or who else he may be. There is only one question on every mind of the galaxy - what is his purpose?
